Review of the Mop Vac – Not Worth the Full Price, But Okay at $80
I recently picked up a Mop Vac on sale at Walmart for just $79, and I wanted to share my thoughts. First things first, I paid for this with my own money, and this review is based on my personal experience.
Overall Thoughts: To be honest, I’m not a fan of this Mop Vac. The retail price for this product is $250, and I definitely wouldn’t pay that much for it after what I’ve experienced. However, at $80, it could be worth it if the brush roll works. Right out of the box, it had issues. Setting it up was easy—the handle just needed to be attached—but the roller was a major problem.
Pros:
- Affordable at $79 (on sale at Walmart – original price $250)
- Easy setup – Only the handle needed to be attached
- Nice cleaning solution scent – Leaves the house smelling fresh
- Self-cleaning button works (once the roller issue is fixed)
- Good for picking up coarse hair – Does a great job with beard hair
- Cleans well on regular messes – Does a decent job on general dirt and spills
Cons:
- Brush roll issues – Right out of the box, the roller didn’t work properly, flashing lights kept appearing
- Doesn’t pick up fine or thin hair – Leaves it in wet clumps on the floor
- Struggles with sticky or stuck-on messes – Doesn’t handle tough messes well
- Flashing light/stop-start problem – Had to repeatedly turn it off and on to get it to work
- Not worth full price – For $250, the issues with the brush roll are unacceptable
- Common roller issue – Many others report the same problem with the roller
Final Thoughts:
For $80, if you happen to get a Mop Vac with a functioning brush roll, it could be a decent deal. But given my experience with the roller issues, I can’t fully recommend it. $250 is definitely too much for this product, especially with the problems I’ve encountered. If you’re okay with possibly dealing with these issues, it might be worth trying, but I wouldn’t buy it at full price.
